Getting To Know You

Where did you grow up? I was born in California, but I grew up in Orem, Utah- mostly.

What brought you to this area/ward? My husband, Timothy, got a fellowship at the University of Oregon to help teach music classes while we works on his PhD program in Music Theory there. We also feel we were led here by the Lord to find our three babies who had been waiting for us.

Tell us about some of the places you have lived in the past? My family lived in Worthing, England for about 7 months when I was a teenager. It was an amazing experience to live there and work with the English people. We also got to tour England, Wales, France, Italy, Spain, and Germany while we were there. It was an experience of a life time. W've also lived in Idaho and Colorado during our married life.

Where are you currently serving in our ward or stake? I am serving as the ward choir pianist, and am sad to say I was just released from working with the beautiful Young Women of the ward. But, playing for the choir and being a visiting teacher is my focus right now. (At least when it comes to callings.)

How did you meet your spouse?? Timothy and I met in our first year of college at Ricks. We ended up in the same music theory class. We were married in the summer of 2001. In the Mount Timpanogos Temple in Utah.

How many kids do you have? We have three beautiful children who have come to us through the miracle of adoption. Well, two are ours and one soon will be. Brigham is 3, Rebekah is 2, and Hyrum is 12 months. We hope to have more than three, though...eventually...

Do you work, if so where and what do you do? I work at home running a child care business. I have my three plus four others. It keeps me hopping all day long. (over all the scattered toys)

What are your interest, talents and hobbies? I like to read and work with the children. I enjoy spending time with my family when we don't have extras around. If I had time I would play the piano more, sew, and read more books. But, right now I mostly play with children, change diapers, clean house, and try to get a little reading time in.

Tell us something that people don't really know about you? Lots of people think I'm shy and don't like to talk in front of others, but that's pretty far from the truth. I really enjoy talking with people and I love teaching in front of other. I just can never think of what to say until the moment to say it has passed. That's why I like teaching because I can plan what to say ahead of time. :)

Where are you currently serving in our ward or stake? Primary

Tell us a bit about your family? Just my husband and me so far. We’ve been married three years but together for almost a decade. We also have a dog – Jade, half Lab-rot mix, I bought her for Jared’s 18th b-day

How did you meet your spouse?? High-school, started dating when I was 16

How many kids do you have? I would like 3

Do you work, if so where and what do you do? I work full time at SELCO Community Credit Union in the commercial lending department, been there for about 5 years

What are your interest, talents and hobbies? I love the arts – drawing, painting, sculpting, ceramics, photography, glass work, music oh and I love to read!

Tell us something that people don't really know about you? I volunteer for a program called Lunch-Buddy over at Guy-Lee Elementary. This is my 5th year with the program. I have lunch with a child one a week during the school year. It is very rewarding! I’ve been with the same girl for three years now and I think I have made a big difference in her life.

Super Saturday

Super Saturday is going to be so much fun you won't want to miss a second of it. Hate crafts? no problem... Can't sew? you don't have to! There is something for all ages and abilities.


Humanitarian Kits: (Our Goal is 20 of each)
School Kit & Hygiene Kit the approximate cost of the kits is around $15.00. You can donate an entire kit, or just certain items of a kit. The sign up sheets will be going around this Sunday.

Three service projects:
Hats for the NICU, Headstart and for the homeless
Care packages for the military (gift cards they can send home to their loved ones).
Two Quilts for the Humanitarian effort that need to be quilted
